Meteorological Stations (Automatic Weather Stations)
Meteorological processes and their observations help understanding phenomenon of meteorological cycle, thus emphasizing on necessity for collection and analysis of meteorological data continuously over long periods of time. The rapid growth of communication networks has made it possible for this process of data collection and analysis instant by making data available online and at real time. Real time data collection and delivery of meteorological data is highly valuable during the feasibility study and detailed engineering design.
Automatic Weather Station is being increasingly used to complement and even replace manual observations as the primary mode of weather data collection. The transition of manual to automated observation is carefully managed in order that the existing long term climate records are not compromised, but rather enhanced by the close adherence to standards and procedures. In short, installing a modernized automated weather station would provide users with high frequent and high quality data with better ability to detect extremes and required information.
The ability to continually monitor several meteorological parameters is needed to analyze characteristics and behavior of snow in mountainous terrain also. Limited accessibility and extreme weather conditions in such areas demand the use of robust instrumentation and telemetry. The proposed system provides a robust instrumentation with use of accurate and sophisticated sensors and reliable telemetry system. For unattended locations as such,
frequent visit to these remote sites is impractical. Thus, our system facilitates remote configuration by which any modification in settings of device can be achieved right from the central office, avoiding necessity of visiting to these sites for changing any setting of the system.
Meteorological data processing and observation is also one of the important factors for agriculture research. Weather reports for agriculture purposes are/was dependent on manual observation to provide an integrated assessment of present weather and issue special weather report on occurrence. But now with the growing technology this manual observation has been automated.
